This is what happens when you are separated from God.
Spiritual Darkness means being separated from god
Isaiah 9:2
The people that walked in the darkness have seen a great light : they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death , upon them hath the light shined.
This proclaims that those who have came to know the god of Isreal through the son, Jesus Christ are the ones who have been delivered from spiritual darkness and now walk been delivered in the light of God’s life .
Matthew 4 :16
The people which sat in the darkness saw great light ; and to them which sat In the region and shadow of death light is sprung up .
1 John 1:5-6
This then is the message which we have heard of him , and declare unto you, that god is light and in him is no darkness at all . if we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness , we lie and do not the truth :
John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying , I am the light of the world : he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness ,but shall have the light of life.
John 1: 4-5
In him was life; and the life was the light of men and the light shineth in darkness ; and the darkness comprehended it not

The way of the wicked is a darkness : they know not at what they stumble.
Deuteronomy 28:15
But it shall come to pass , if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the lord thy god, to deserve to do all his commandments and his statues which I command thee this day ; that all these curses shall come upon thee and over take thee

And you will be groping at noon in broad daylight
Just as the blind grope in the darkness and nothing you do will prosper but you will only be oppressed and exploited and robbed continually with no one to save you .
Living in spiritually darkness is equivalent to rebelling against god and his will.
Acts 26:17-18
Delivering thee from the people, and from the gentiles unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes , and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto god , that they may receive forgiveness of sins , and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Ephesians 5:8
For ye were sometimes darkness , but now are ye light in the lord : walk as children of light :

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son :

Giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh , are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Matthew 6: 22-23
The light of the body is the eye : if therefore thine eye be single thy whole body shall be full of light but if thine eye be evil thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Mark 12:33

2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not , lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of god , should shine unto them.
